- First name:   Vladimir   - Last name:   Sedach   - Email address:   (string-downcase (concatenate 'string (subseq first-name 0 1) last-name "@ucalgary.ca")) I don't mind if you share the above.   - Home page:   - Phone number(s):   (403) 286-2899   - Postal code:   T2L 1Z2   - City:   Calgary   - Country:   Canada   - Organization(s) you work for or study at (please supply the name and city for each organization):   University of Calgary, Calgary (student)   - Fields of interest (e.g. computer linguistics, numerical analysis, business software, medicine, bioinformatics):   (Interactive) computer graphics, web apps, AI.   - Have you written any Lisp-related papers? If so, please supply bibliographical references (and URL's, if possible).   - Have you developed or participated in the development of any Lisp-related programs or libraries? If so, please supply a URL, if possible.   ThinLisp - www.thinlisp.org SLIME - http://common-lisp.net/project/slime/   - Lisp variants you have used (e.g. Common Lisp, Scheme, Dylan):   Common Lisp, Scheme, Emacs Lisp   - Lisp variants you're currently using or intend to use in the near future:   Common Lisp   - Lisp implementations you have used (e.g. CMUCL, Lispworks, Allegro Common Lisp):   CMUCL, SBCL, CLISP, ECL, ThinLisp, DrScheme   - Lisp implementations you're currently using or intend to use in the near future:   CMUCL, CLISP, SBCL   - Computer platforms on which you're using or deploying Lisp:   FreeBSD, Linux   - Number of years of experience with Lisp:   2   - Do you use Lisp: - at work (if so, how much) - for study (if so, how much) - as a hobby (if so, how much)   Hobby (2 hours/week), study (5 hours/week)   - Are you using Lisp as much as you would like to? If not, why not?   I'm not getting my Lisp fix. I'm either working or studying full time in fields mostly unrelated to Lisp or programming, and only infrequently get time blocks big enough to do anything productive.   - Do you see any obstacles to further Lisp growth (if so, what is the biggest obstacle in your opinion)?   (Popular) programming perception, or lack thereof. What little there is, is usually biased by rumors and misconceptions. Once Lisp reaches a critical mass in popular opinion, all else (GUI/network/web-enabled coffee machine libraries that everyone is always complaining about and is another one of the rumors/misconceptions) will follow (but this will not stop the whiners from demanding all of this in a Free Software gimme-gimme-gimme form for Windows; only when RMS shaves his beard and goes to work for Microsoft will they shut up and pony up the cash).   - Would you be interested in a Lisp-related job or contract work?   Contract work (in Calgary or telecommuting).   - Is your organization interested in hiring Lisp programmers?   They don't think affirmative action covers speech impediments.   - Are you currently participating in Lisp-related meetings? If so, where and how often? If not, would you be interested in such meetings?   Currently no, but I am interested.
