There are no colleages interested in / knowledgeable in Lisp. So, anything I make will be my task to maintain. That's not a position I like to be in. > - Do you see any obstacles to further Lisp growth (if so, what > is the biggest obstacle in your opinion)? it is currently hard enough for us to find friendly people with enough perl skills. Let alone Lisp. It is the old customer 'I don't care what language you use, as long as you finish the job on time.' complain. And the only way to do that is to have extra help available. And that means common languages. (Within limits, of course :) > - Would you be interested in a Lisp-related job or contract work? Ow, definetely. > - Is your organization interested in hiring Lisp programmers? Version 1: Yes, if they like to work in perl :) Version 2: No. We mostly work with perl, as stated above. The other main language is Java because customers want us to. (Not my problem :) These two fullfill most needs for us (company of about 15) without having to duplicate too much effort. Using any other language (be it Lisp, Python or whatnot) costs too much work to learn and support. > - Are you currently participating in Lisp-related meetings? > If so, where and how often? > If not, would you be interested in such meetings? maybe once/if I use lisp regulary.
