ÿþ- First name: Dave - Last name: Pearson - Email address: REMOVED - Home page: http://www.davep.org/ - Country: England - Fields of interest (e.g. computer linguistics, numerical analysis, business software, medicine, bioinformatics): Business software. Software development in general. - Have you written any Lisp-related papers? If so, please supply bibliographical references (and URL's, if possible). No. - Have you developed or participated in the development of any Lisp-related programs or libraries? If so, please supply a URL, if possible. http://www.davep.org/lisp/ contains what I've written and published so far. - Lisp variants you have used (e.g. Common Lisp, Scheme, Dylan): Common Lisp, Emacs Lisp, Scheme and a little bit of Dylan. - Lisp variants you're currently using or intend to use in the near future: Common Lisp, Emacs Lisp. - Lisp implementations you have used (e.g. CMUCL, Lispworks, Allegro Common Lisp): CMUCL, SBCL, Clisp, GNU emacs. I have dabbled with the try-for-free versions of Corman Common Lisp, Lispworks and Allegro Common Lisp. - Lisp implementations you're currently using or intend to use in the near future: CMUCL, SBCL. - Computer platforms on which you're using or deploying Lisp: x86. Mostly GNU/Linux but I also play on Windows from time to time. - Number of years of experience with Lisp: I think it's about six years since I first looked at Common Lisp. - Do you use Lisp: - at work (if so, how much) - for study (if so, how much) - as a hobby (if so, how much) Hardly ever for work purposes, although I have done on occasion. I probably spend two or three hours a week working with lisp for study/hobby purposes. - Are you using Lisp as much as you would like to? If not, why not? No. Because I don't really get the chance or the time. - Do you see any obstacles to further Lisp growth (if so, what is the biggest obstacle in your opinion)? Personally I tend to think that this is a pointless question and probably one that requires more definition. Growth in what sense and to what end? - Would you be interested in a Lisp-related job or contract work? Yes. - Is your organization interested in hiring Lisp programmers? Probably not. - Are you currently participating in Lisp-related meetings? If so, where and how often? If not, would you be interested in such meetings? No. Although there do appear to be some Lisp related meetings happening in Cambridge, which is about an hour's drive from where I live and work, they tend to happen at times that make it pretty impossible to attend. -- Dave Pearson http://www.davep.org/lisp/
